Como usar “GOING TO”

Hoje vamos aprender a usar “going to” e também sua forma mais informal, “gonna”!

Quando usamos “going to”?

Usamos “going to” para falar sobre:

 Planos já decididos

Intenções para o futuro

Exemplo:
“I am going to travel to Rio next week.”
(= Eu já decidi que vou viajar)

Estrutura do “going to”

 Sujeito + verbo “to be” + going to + verbo

Exemplos:

  • I am going to travel
  • She is going to stay
  • They are going to visit 

Forma reduzida: “gonna”

 “Gonna” = forma informal de “going to”

Muito usada na fala e em conversas informais.

Exemplos:

  • I’m gonna travel to Rio.
  • She’s gonna stay in Copacabana.
  • They’re gonna visit Christ the Redeemer.

 Importante:

  • Use “gonna” em situações informais (fala, mensagens, redes sociais)
  • Evite em textos formais ou provas  

Exemplos do contexto

  • “I’m going to stay in Copacabana.”
    👉 “I’m gonna stay in Copacabana.”
  • “I’m going to visit Christ the Redeemer.”
    👉 “I’m gonna visit Christ the Redeemer.”
  • “I’m going to stay in a small hotel.”
    👉 “I’m gonna stay in a small hotel.” 

 Sujeito + verbo “to be” + not + going to

Exemplos:

  • I am not going to stay there.
  • I’m not gonna stay there.  (informal) 

Perguntas

 Verbo “to be” + sujeito + going to + verbo?

Exemplos:

  • Are you going to travel?
  • Where are you going to stay?

 “Gonna” geralmente não é usado em perguntas formais, mas pode aparecer na fala:

  • “Are you gonna travel?” (informal) 

Resumo

 “Going to” = planos futuros 

“Gonna” = forma informal de “going to”

 Estrutura: sujeito + am/is/are + going to
